About the Yankee

So, first things first – my name is Ted McEnroe, and I am the Director of Digital Media for New England Cable News. NECN, as you might call it. (But please pronounce it “N-E-C-N”, not “NEC-N”. ) And yeah, I turned 40 and decided to take on a new challenge, moving from broadcast journalism to the web.

On January 1, 2008, while many of you were sleeping in the New Year, we were hard at work, launching a new website. It’s part of a long-term process to develop a new site, a new presence and ideally, a new community built around the voices of bloggers from throughout New England, gathered in one place.

We have the new site up — and it’s worth checking out. Lots of good stories from NECN, and a great video player that has some of the best, fastest loading news video on the web.

And there will be more from there. The development takes time, and we hope to do it right. It begins here, with one journalist learning, after more than a decade in broadcasting, how to start the conversation. And hoping you’ll join in.

And of course, the views, opinions and all that good stuff posted on this blog are my views alone, and not those of my employers or anyone else. Just me. You can, however, use, repost,  show highlights, and comment without the express written consent of Major League Baseball.
